The obtained Lignin blend monoliths showed a better absorption ability toward oils. Therefore, Lignin blends monoliths used as sorbents, which is a great promising eco-friendly sorbent material for oil clean up applications in water bodies. Sorbents after saturated absorption continued to be floating on the surface of the water phase and could be easily removed. The adsorbed oil collected by simply squeezing the monoliths manually.
